"As for Mary, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart" (Luke 2:19)
In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
The Word of God is God Himself; the Word of God is Jesus. When we receive the Word, we receive Jesus. We should therefore receive the Word with great devotion. All those who receive the Word of God are given power to become children of God. (John 1:12-13)
Receiving the Word of God transforms our life since we come to share in His divine nature when the Word of God comes to us. Saint Paul urges us to give the Word of God a place in our hearts. (Colossians 3:16)
May we all experience the gift of God's Spirit and His Life, God's Power, His Truth and His Wisdom that reading, listening and sharing the Scriptures can bring to our lives, yes - to all those who accept God's Word for what it really is, “a power that is working among you believers” (1Thessalonians 2:13)
